Luminaire Human Resource Assistant

This position is primarily responsible for providing support in functional areas in a Human Resource department, which may include recruitment/employment, personnel records, job evaluation, compensation management, benefits administration, organization/development, and training.

  • Supports administration, coordination, and application of company-wide human resources policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Responds to employee’s benefit questions, assists with resolution of problems regarding access to or payment of benefits, assists employees with paperwork related to filing medical claims, and processes enrollment forms and change requests.
  • Coordinates paperwork related to benefits, retirement plans, COBRA continuation, workers’ compensation, and unemployment.
  • Maintains employee files and database.
  • Processes and submits timecard information; troubleshoots timecard issues; distributes paychecks.
  • Schedules interviews and applicant assessments.
  • Coordinates travel arrangements for new hires as needed.
  • Schedules and coordinates new employee orientations, and supports with preparation of onboarding.
  • Assists with communication of benefit programs changes and updates.
  • Posts required labor law information.
  • Screens and routes telephone calls, and coordinates scheduling interviews with decision makers.
  • Performs general clerical duties including but not limited to filing, photocopying, faxing, and mailing.
  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
  • Maintains and orders supplies for the human resources department as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

  • One to two years related experience.
  • Basic knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
  • Proficient on OS systems and within Microsoft 365 Suite  
  • Keystroke a minimum of 50 wpm.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
